Under the leadership of Rodney F. Emery, CEO of Steadfast Companies, SMC has assembled a team of skilled professionals who bring a combined total of more than 100 years of property management experience to SMC.
Our property management professionals strive to prevent problems rather than just solving them. Our holistic approach provides a strong foundation of property management fundamentals and guidelines to create stability, as well as a sense of community and comfort for our residents.

Mr. Emery is the founder of Steadfast Companies and is responsible for the corporate vision and overall guidance of Steadfast. He has been engaged in all of the $8 billion-plus of real estate the company has acquired, developed and/or managed over the past 25+ years. Mr. Emery has been instrumental in fostering key relationships and opportunities that have resulted in Steadfast’s development into a vertically integrated company providing a comprehensive spectrum of commercial real estate services across the United States and Mexico. Prior to founding Steadfast Companies in 1994, Mr. Emery served for 17 years as the president of Cove Properties, a diversified commercial real estate firm specializing in property management, construction and development, where he was responsible for developing and/or purchasing and renovating over 7 million square feet of office, industrial and retail buildings. Mr. Emery currently serves on the board of directors for The Rising Tide, a transitional housing and training program for youth that are emancipated from social services and foster homes, and on the board of HomeWord, a Christian organization designed to provide assistance to youth and families worldwide. He is also on the Board of Trustees for the Northrise Initiative, a Christian university in Zambia, Africa, and the Board of Directors for the Finishing Fund, which works with Christian ministries around the world. Mr. Emery is a graduate of the University of Southern California. -

Mr. Davar is responsible for overall accounting and finance operations, including all reporting, budgeting and treasury functions for Steadfast Companies. Mr. Davar also coordinates financing and accounting functions for Steadfast Companies’ properties located throughout the United States and Latin America. Prior to joining Steadfast Companies in 1996, Mr. Davar was an independent loan consultant handling both residential and commercial mortgage loans. Mr. Davar served in various roles including Chief Financial Officer of Cove Properties, a diversified real estate development firm specializing in property management, construction and development. While at Cove Properties from 1980 to 1992, Mr. Davar oversaw all aspects of the company’s various real estate transactions, including financing, acquisition, development, property management, and disposition. Mr. Davar was educated as a Chartered Accountant in New Delhi, India, and is a graduate of Meerut University, in Meerut, India. -

Ms. del Rio manages the company’s corporate services group, including legal, compliance, risk management, human resources, information technology and internal communications, and oversees property management. Prior to joining Steadfast Companies in 2003, Ms. del Rio was a partner in the public finance group at Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe, LLP for over 10 years, representing both issuers and underwriters in financing single-family and multifamily housing and other types of public-private and redevelopment projects. Prior to practicing law, Ms. del Rio co-owned and operated a campaign consulting and research company specializing in local campaigns and ballot measures for more than 14 years. Ms. del Rio received a J.D. from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law and received a M.P.A. and B.A. from the University of Southern California. She is also a licensed California real estate broker. -

Sara Sprankles has been with Steadfast Companies since 2005 and currently serves as the Director, Property Management, responsible for the management and operations of Steadfast Management Co., Inc. Sara began her career in the property management industry in 1999 as a Leasing Consultant and has since held various positions. While at Steadfast, she has served as a Regional Manager, Property Transitions Manager, Asset Manager, and Director of Strategic Initiatives. Sara is active with NAA and AAOC and holds a Blended Occupancy Specialist designation from the National Center for Housing Management. -

Chris has held many positions in the multi-family industry over his 25+ year career and now serves as the Senior Regional Manager over the affordable portfolio of Steadfast communities. Laura started in the multifamily industry in 2011, serving onsite community operations before moving into the corporate office as a District Coordinator, Facilities Coordinator and Senior Regional Coordinator. Laura joined Steadfast in 2019, as Executive Assistant to the Executive Vice President of Operations and now assists with the coordination of all operations tasks as Senior Property Coordinator for Steadfast Management Company. Laura also holds the title of Transitions Coordinator, seeing properties through the acquisition and disposition process. Laura earned her B.S in Business Administration from the University of Colorado at Boulder.
